Madam,
With reference to the letter dated February, 1932, signed by you and
other women graduate members of the Education Department enclosing a petition
addressed to His Excellency the Governor, I am directed to inform you that
but that in view of your representations have received careful consideration;
the very recent revision of salaries His Excellency is not prepared to adopt
the suggestion that graduate teachers should receive an addition of two in-
crements to the initial salary.
2. Appointment to the post of Headmistress of Belilios Public School
and of Senior Mistress is by selection and the claims of graduates will be
duly considered when vacancies occur; but His Excellency is unable to agree
to the proposal that only graduates should be eligible for these posts.
3.
The appointment of a woman sub-inspector of vernacular schools will
be considered when a vacancy occurs.
